China’s Ambassador Meets RDF Chief to Strengthen Military Ties

The Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda, Gao Wenqi, has met with General MK Mubarakh, the Chief of Defence Staff of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), in a move aimed at deepening cooperation between the two countries.


The meeting, which took place at the RDF headquarters, focused on strengthening existing relations, especially in the areas of security and military collaboration. Both sides showed interest in building a stronger partnership based on trust and shared goals.

 

During the discussions, they talked about increasing cooperation through training, sharing experience and working together in international peacekeeping missions. These areas were highlighted as important for improving the capacity of both armies.

 

Ambassador Gao Wenqi reaffirmed China’s commitment to maintaining a close relationship with Rwanda. He said China is ready to continue supporting Rwanda in strengthening its military capabilities and cooperation in different sectors.

 

General MK Mubarakh, on his side, emphasized that Rwanda values its partnership with China, especially in military training and development. He noted that such cooperation plays a key role in enhancing Rwanda’s security and contribution to global peacekeeping efforts.

Both leaders agreed that military cooperation remains an important part of the broader relationship between Rwanda and China, and that it should continue to grow in the future.

 

Rwanda and China have maintained strong ties over the years, including exchanges between their armed forces and technical support. This partnership has grown stronger over time, especially as both countries continue to work together in promoting peace and security internationally.
