Global Oil Volatility: New Price Adjustments in Rwanda
Following the national address by Prime Minister Dr. Justin Nsengiyumva regarding the global "oil shock," the Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) has announced immediate adjustments to pump prices effective April 4, 2026.
These changes reflect the ongoing volatility in the Middle East, which has driven international crude oil prices toward $100 per barrel, impacting energy and transport costs worldwide.
New Official Fuel Prices (Effective April 3, 2026)
To ensure the continued supply of petroleum products and to align with international market trends, the following maximum retail prices are now in effect:
Gasoline (Petrol) will cost 2,303 Frw from 1989 Frw/Little, and Diesel will cost 2,205 Frw from 1948 Frw/L.
These prices include Value Added Tax (VAT) and reflect the government's efforts to balance fiscal sustainability with consumer protection.
This will affect both private transportation and public transport as well as prices of goods and services all over the country.
