The ministerial session was co-chaired by Rwanda’s Minister of State, Dr. Usta Kaitesi, and Uganda’s Minister of State, Hon. John Mulumba. The high-level meeting marked the culmination of several days of discussions aimed at strengthening collaboration across key sectors of mutual interest.

In her remarks, Minister of State Dr. Kaitesi reaffirmed the importance of the JPC in advancing results-oriented cooperation between the two countries. She emphasized the need to translate agreed decisions into concrete and timely actions that deliver tangible benefits to citizens.

The previous day PS of Rwanda MFA, Fidelis Mironko and Mr. Vincent Bagiire, PS at Uganda MFA, co-chaired the Permanent Secretaries’ session of the 12th Joint Permanent Commission (JPC) between Rwanda and Uganda.

In his opening remarks, PS Mironko emphasized that their deliberations will further strengthen collaboration through new areas of cooperation and ensure that emerging priorities deliver tangible benefits to both countries and their peoples.

The 12th JPC session is expected to reinforce ongoing efforts by Rwanda and Uganda to enhance diplomatic ties, promote regional stability, and accelerate socio-economic development through structured and action-driven cooperation.
