Rwanda to Host 2026 ESAAMLG Annual Meetings on Financial Integrity
Rwanda will host the 2026 ESAAMLG Annual Meetings from Aug 31–Sep 5, 2026, uniting 22 nations to strengthen regional anti-money laundering and CFT systems.
The Government of Rwanda will host the 2026 Eastern and Southern Africa Anti-Money Laundering Group (ESAAMLG) Annual Meetings from 31st August to 5th September 2026.
Organized through the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MINECOFIN) and the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC), the event will run under the theme: “From Technical Compliance to Demonstrable Outcome: Strengthening Effective AML/CFT/CPF Systems in Eastern and Southern Africa.”
The week-long summit will gather Ministers, Heads of Financial Intelligence Units, and senior officials from 22 member countries, alongside representatives from the FATF, World Bank, IMF, African Development Bank, COMESA, and SADC.
Key engagements include the 52nd Task Force of Senior Officials Meeting, the 26th Council of Ministers Meeting, and the 9th Public–Private Sector Dialogue. Deliberations will focus on deepening regional cooperation against money laundering, terrorism financing, and financial crime.
Hosting this landmark gathering reinforces Rwanda’s dedication to international financial transparency while highlighting its growing standing as a premier regional destination for major international conferences.
