A New Chapter in Dakar: President Faye Unveils ‘KIIRAAY’ to Chart Senegal’s Next Era.

In a landmark gathering at the King Fahd Palace in Dakar, Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye officially introduced his new political platform, KIIRAAY: Les Patriotes Républicains (The Republican Patriots).

Taking its name from the Wolof term for "shield" or "protective shelter," KIIRAAY represents an evolving governance strategy for the presidency. Built out of the former Diomaye Président coalition that brought Faye into office in early 2024, the new party brings together civic organizations, regional leaders, and grassroots allies around a central motto: “La Patrie d'Abord”.

Defining the Kiiraay Platform

Kiiraay frames its political mission as a protective force designed to strengthen national sovereignty, institutional independence, and socio-economic progress.
